Leslie’s passion is to inspire sustainable diet & lifestyle practices that support optimal health and wellness. A graduate of Human Development with continued interested in studying the human condition, possibilities, and truth seeking, Leslie discovered yoga over 15-years ago as a form of exercise that kept her toned and flexible. This ancient practice was gratifying and motivating with it’s many postures, forms, and possibilities.
Yoga brought a sense of discovery that was absent in repetitive types of exercise. She continued her studies in yoga receiving her Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Certification. While studying yoga, Leslie was inspired toward additional practices including AYURVEDA (pronounced: eye-your-vA-duh) the sister science of yoga or “life wisdom,” as a form of alternative holistic healing. Leslie found that when applied together, yoga and ayurveda are a powerful combination in supporting the body toward optimal health. While yoga prepares the body, mind, & spirit connection and enlightenment, ayurveda supports the body with diet, lifestyle, and routine that are powerful and effective.
Now as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor Intern at the California College of Ayurveda, Leslie focuses on ALL 5-senses to get to the root of healing. These techniques include: food, aroma, color, touch (massage), and sound. In addition she uses diet, lifestyle choices & routines, yoga postures, breath (pranayama), meditation, and more to create the optimal inward and outward environment for health.
Leslie’s talent is in finding solutions, looking at obstacles related to health and finding ways to overcome them. She notices what isn’t working in order to prune back challenges, sprout healthy habits, and ripen the fruits of healthy living. Leslie offers personalized support in order to grow a life you love to live.
As an active maturing adult, Leslie continues to enjoy many outdoor sports including hiking, backpacking, stand-up paddleboard and more, Leslie relies on her yoga practice and ayurvedic knowledge of diet and lifestyle to keep her toned and ready for new adventures. She loves introducing these practices to her clients and has made it her life work to share these tools, creating healthy lifestyles from seed to ripeness.
Yoga: An ancient discipline consisting of postures, meditation, breath, and other techniques practiced to unite body, mind, & spirit. These practices help to condition the body, bring awareness in order to liberate the mind from dysfunctional thought & perception, and gain inner peace.
Ayurveda: An ancient practice of ‘life wisdom’; a natural healing system that supports the body in ways unique to each person’s constitution; known as dosha. Dosha is determined at conception, it includes body characteristics, distinctive qualities, & temperament, and addresses each persons tendencies toward imbalance. Ayurveda becomes your own personal ‘owners manual’. Ayurveda sees each individual as unique, therefore healing requires individual direction, unique to that person.
