I had wanted to incorporate yoga into my fitness routine for a long time. The benefits are well known – better balance, improved strength and flexibility, increased energy and sense of well-being Not to mention the benefits of dedicating one hour to focus just on yourself and your body. I don’t know anyone who couldn’t benefit from investing an hour in themselves.

Since taking Leslie’s yoga classes, I feel a sense of accomplishment for committing to the classes. And each week, I see small but meaningful improvements that push me to keep going. Leslie is wonderfully supportive instructor and I would encourage anyone from curious beginners like me to more advanced skill levels to try Leslie’s classes and enjoy the results!

Working with Leslie changed my life in so many ways! When I finally made the choice to come and work with Leslie, I had no mobility in either of my shoulders. I had what my Doctors called ‘Frozen shoulders’. Which basically means I couldn’t move them.  The only way to really describe it would be, like having duct tape wrapped around your muscles. I had pain radiating in both arms for over a year. It was one of the most excruciating pains I’d ever endured in my life. Even though I’d never been to a yoga class and had no idea of what to do, she was so patient with me! Leslie worked with me one on one and then gave some simple stretches that I could do at home. Within a matter of weeks of working with Leslie and the yoga she suggested I do at home, I had some movement in both arms. I was so happy with my progress, simply because I hadn’t had any progress at all to this point on my own! Over the course of the next 3 sessions Leslie worked what I call ‘her magic’ because I had nothing less than a miracle happen! I went from not being able to move my arms, AT ALL, to being able to do my own hair! Now, this was HUGE to me, it was like everything just came together! My body was listening, my body was loose, and happy too! I wasn’t hurting like I was in the months earlier. The ‘duct tape’ had loosened up!  Leslie gave me my life back! I had felt like I was in a prison, and that prison was my own body; Leslie had the key to get me out of that prison. And I love her for that!

I look forward to work on Thursdays when I know that Leslie will be there. Her instruction is clear and gentle and insistent, encouraging us to go just a little bit further with every pose. I’ve loosened up and regained flexibility after just a few sessions.

I came into my first yoga class not knowing what to expect.  I was a bit apprehensive, but almost immediately felt at ease with Leslie.  She is a strong and gracious yoga teacher with nurturing and inspiring teaching skills.  As we finished our first class I noticed that I felt better than I had in months.  I was more relaxed and clear headed and had a burst of energy that really propelled me though my day. I look forward to continuing my journey with her.

As an active maturing adult, Leslie continues to enjoy outdoor sports including hiking, backpacking, stand-up paddleboard and more. Leslie relies on her yoga practice and Ayurvedic knowledge of diet and lifestyle to maintain her exuberance and keep her toned & ready for new adventures.
